How does it work?
Simple 3-step Sign-up
Step 1: Decide what you would like to make green
Simply select the type of website you wish to make carbon neutral (eg Small Business, Medium Business Large Business or Personal). We have a simple calculator to help you decide, if you’re not sure. Step 1 will determine how many carbon credits (and, effectively, trees) are required to make your web server carbon neutral.
Step 2: Enter your details and make your payment
Next, enter enter your name, address and contact details. Once you are happy these are correct you can proceed to our 100% secure payment gateway for credit card payment.
Payments are made annually on your signup anniversary. We will notify you at least 14 days prior to your next year’s renewal. If you would like your website to remain green you don't need to do anything. We will purchase more carbon credits on your behalf and your badge will remain valid. You can use our one-click cancel option to permanently cancel your subscription at any time.
Step 3: Select and download your tickgreen website badge and email badge
You have a choice of the design and size of tickgreen badge that you think will work best for your website and email. Go to what you get to view tickgreen badge designs and all the other benefits of being a member.
What do we do when you sign up?
We purchase Carbon Credits
We allocate your website the relevant number of certified carbon credits to make your website carbon neutral. The Carbon Credits are created through reforestation projects in Australian Goverment State Forests. All Tick Green Carbon Credits are registered with the NSW government in the Greenhouse Gas Registry and are fully audited. So you can be very confident that your website is now green. Your badge and printed certificate
Directly after signing up you are presented with a selection of badges which you can use on your website. You can click on your selected badge (or badges!) and are instantly shown the snippet of code which will display the badge on your site. You are also provided with images that you can place in your email signature. We will also post your Certified Green Website printed Certificate to the address you provided when you signed up. What will my website badge look like?
We provide you with a choice of several badges that you can place on your site. After you have signed up you get to select the ones you like and then you can place them anywhere on your website. Some people like to place their badges along the bottom (we like the bottom right hand corner!) whilst some like to make them more prominent. Below are two screenshots to give you an idea of how the badges can be placed.

Can the badge be clicked?
Yes! When the badge is clicked a new window is opened containing a certificate that shows the world that your website is green. Only tickgreen members get access to this advanced functionality which works in a similar way to the "click to verify" secure certificate badges, such as the ones issued by SSL providers (eg Thawte, Verisign and Geotrust).
The above image shows a scaled-down sample of the popup window that appears when users click your tickgreen badge. This advanced verification functionality is included with all tickgreen badges and shows that your website is genuinely green.
